This weekend was honestly the most fullfilling weekend I've had in sometime. Friday... I know I did something on Friday and it was entertaining but honestly can't fully remember, oh well. Saturday went to the city Farmer's Market early in the morning. Spent a lot of time down there got a tomatillo plant and an ancho pepper plant. Also some spicies and some oh so good baked goods. Saturday afternoon went up to Westin Missouri. A small but beautiful town, there high school, junior high, and elementary school were in one long building. While we were there we stopped at the local cafe bounced around some antique stores and then went to a local winery. That area of Missouri is famous for its wineries. I also learned that wine has been an important part of Missouri's history and has had a wonderful revival since 1960s, there is about 72 wineries state wide (maybe more the pamplet was a year old). Anyway I've never had wine so while we were at the winery I decided to sample it. They had two or three types of dry wine. I took one sip of the first dry wine and went BLETCH. It tasted like grape juice flavored rubbing alcohol. So then I moved on to the semisweet/dry those were alright. A little alcohol tasting but not too bad. Next we moved on to the sweets. These I liked. The first I tired was a blush called "The Blush of Innocence" it was made from a blend of chambourcin, norton, and chardonel grapes. It was good but not great. Then I tried one called "Avid Apple" it was made from Red Delicious, Jonathan, and Golden Delicious apples this was good but it tasted like apple juice and I love apple juice a lot. Then there was a type of red called a Sweet-Tempered Red it was made from chambourcin and norton grapes. I really really really liked this one. It was yummy. Then the guy brought out a Buoyant Blackberry (bet you can't guess what that was made from). Oh my that one was super yummy too. So I've learned I do like wine and bought a bottle of both the Sweet-Tempered Red and the Buoyant Blackberry. There was a few other people sampling while we were there and they all bought a bottle of the buoyant blackberry. Now I don't see me drinking some every night but every now and then I would enjoy a glass. Then we move on to today. We washed the puppies I got to play in the dirt (garden) I do love to garden. Then went to an animal shelter I'm looking at possibly adopting another dog going to take mine tomorrow to meet her. Anywho doesn't sound like much but that was my weekend in a nut shell.
